29th Annual Hills Garlic Festival

Entertainment

Main Stage

Come to the Main Stage sponsored by the Slocan Lake Arts Council for excellent musical entertainment. Combining regional and international talent, two or three groups alternate sets from 10:00 am through 5:00 pm. Picnic tables and benches provide ample space to sit and enjoy the music, and there is room for dancing.

At 4:00, the raffle ticket draw takes place and contest winners are announced.

The House Band was formed from among the regulars who frequent the Slocan Legion Sunday jams.  Steve and Christine Baal who have hosted the jams for years (Guitar-Bass-Vocals) and Rob Moore, the current host, (Guitar-Vocals) along with Jimmie Peterson (Drums) make up the group. Their style is based on songs that have the room for tight vocal harmonies and can range from vintage sixties tunes through folk and country to more modern offerings.

Endless Solstice hails from the picturesque Kootenay region of British Columbia, where Brie Hurlbert on fiddle and vocals and Jeff Faragher on cello, percussion, and vocals combine their talents to weave a tapestry of Celtic, Canadian, folk, and world music styles. Their performances are renowned for their electrifying energy and infectious fun, showcasing Brie's spirited fiddling and soulful singing alongside Jeff's versatile skills. From lively fiddle tunes that nod to their Celtic and Canadian roots to heartfelt songs that resonate with global influences, Endless Solstice creates a captivating musical experience. Their music not only entertains but also invites audiences to journey through diverse musical landscapes, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of their beloved Kootenay home. In 2024, Endless Solstice is set to perform at the renowned Garlic Fest, promising a lively and unforgettable musical celebration of their eclectic repertoire.
